Dedicated to the support of the educational purpose and mission of Hollins University
The Registrar’s Office is responsible for all aspects of undergraduate registration and academic records. This includes undergraduate class registration and scheduling, grade reporting and record keeping, transcript processing, enrollment verifications, major and minor declarations, summer reading applications, graduation analysis and certification, transfer credit evaluations, and final examination schedules. It strives to serve the university community in a timely, friendly, and accurate manner, and guards the integrity and security of all student records in a manner consistent with ethical and legal standards.
In an effort to ensure academic excellence and a community that sustains talented students in challenging study, the Office of Academic Services works closely with the Office of the Registrar to implement and oversee all matters related to academic policy. The Office of Academic Services also oversees academic advising, works with students in need of special academic accommodations, reports to the Cabinet and the Board on retention data, and serves as a resource to students who are struggling academically. As co-director of the first-year seminar program, the dean of academic services strives to provide new students with a high-quality, academically stimulating class in their first term that will help to ease the adjustment to college life and instill in them a passion for learning and an understanding of the liberal arts mission.
