Accreditation

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges accredits Hollins University to award degrees at the bachelor’s and master’s levels. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of Hollins University.

The university’s accreditation was last reaffirmed in 2007. Hollins is undergoing a review for reaffirmation of accreditation in 2016-2017. The on-site visit of the reaffirmation committee will be held February 14 – February 16, 2017.

The SACSCOC reaffirmation process has two distinct parts: a Compliance Certification and a Quality Enhancement Plan. The compliance certification requires the university to demonstrate compliance with all of the Principles of Accreditation, including core requirements, comprehensive standards, and federal requirements. The Quality Enhancement Plan is the component of the reaffirmation process that reflects and affirms the commitment of the Commission on Colleges to enhancing the quality of higher education in the region and to focusing attention on student learning.
